oily spark plugs

Postby EVL20V » Thu Jun 14, 2007 2:26 pm

the other day one of the plugs needed cleaning to make it run on 4 cylinders again

but when it runs on 3 cylinders again, i have cleaned the plugs numerous times (all are black) to no avail. so mite just need to replace them all?

they look like factory plugs also (denso stylez) and engines done 180km

due to having 20-50w oil in there may have helpd oil them? so an oil change to 15-40w and new plugs should cure the problem? :)

from memory of your other posts (correct me if wrong) your car is burning a bit of oil/ smoking lots. The oily plugs back this up

running 15/40 rather than 20/50 may possibly increase the oil burning, although it may be about the same really also.
New plugs (assuming leads are fine) will cure the running on 3 problem, but if its still smoking and burning oil it will only be a temp fix and will re-occur imo, more a question of how long until...
Cant believe im still a member here.
