will sard let you have the software to tune them?

from what i saw (and was told by a g33k) the main chip in the sard ecus is removable and reflashable.

without the tunability, what would seriously make someone spend that amount of money on one of those ecu's? 2k on a jza70 ecu, or 1500 on a g3 and still have money left over for a bit of a tune...

That's obviously up to the buyer - and that's their choice. Can't change peoples minds if that's the way they want to go - however there are plenty of circumstances where you may not be able to do that - such as racing series that feature 4AG's for example - where a complete replacement ECU isn't allowed under the rules, but a tuned or re-mapped factory ECU is.

Anyhow, it's up to the person and their circumstances. ECU at $2k may be the same price as a $1200 ECU + $800 in tuning - and then again not many people have a dyno to re-tune on over and over again!
