Lock-Tight bolts

Postby Zyros » Thu Jun 21, 2007 12:40 am

Hey, me and my mate doing a manual conversion of a cefiro.
( I know it aint toyota, sorry)

He put Lock-Tight on the bolts to the flywheel, but.. after that we realised that we didnt take the auto spigot bush out, so now gotta un-do those bolts..

Will it come off easy, any tips?

will be harder than if there was no loctite, i think you can heat them and it breaks it down a bit, you wanna be careful around that area though i'd say, other than that, just use a really long bar

i hope he didn't use super-high strength loctite. it'll be a b%^&h if he did. Big power bar and you should be fine if it was medium strength loctite.

Recently had to take my flywheel off to change the backing plate for my gearbox. Makes it hard, but not impossible to get off. Big power bar FTW.

Borrow a compressor and rattle gun and shock those c**ts undone bro, otherwise if u have access to a gas set put abit of heat on each bolt as metioned above as it breaks the loctite down,or else get hold of a flogging spanner and club hammer and crack each bolt or yea long power bar with a bit of pipe on it for extra leavarage

off topic, but that reminded me of a nut we undid at pick-a-part on the weekend, we found a 2.5m long pipe and used it on a 3/4" drive power bar, undid it no worries!

postfach if you want a we hint when doing that rap a rag arround you strong arm that way when you use the pipe & break the pin of the bar theres no scratches arround the bar so you still get warrenty:)

DIRTYDX heat is probly not the best fix for arround this area as it will make the berring harder to get out when flywheel is off & ma stuff the berrings or seals
The faster you go the quicker you get there
