Engine Interferance

Postby RevolutionStarlet89 » Thu Jun 14, 2007 3:59 pm

Ok so i just wired my back speakers to my amp, and i get a very low level of what sounds like alternator interfreance, i brought a 5 amp noise level filter but now i cant get some stations and some times the noise is worse!:S any 1 got any ideas on whats going on?? When i play a cd it works fine and there is no interference, it just seems to be with the radio.

Cheers

Minimize the lenght of your ground cables. Ground head deck straight to body. Ground amp straight to body.

Does the noise change or get louder or higher pitched or anything when the revvs are higher? If yes, alternator whine. If no, and as only on radio, might be something to do with your headunit or your aerial? I would ditch the noise thingee you bought though, doesn't seem to be helping

First thing with something like that is to check all your grounds are mint, as in short and grounded to bare metal (sand off any paint if theres paint where you ground)

how close are your power wires to your rca or speaker wires? normally they should be run down seperate sides of the car or have a bit of space between them...
