Hasn't been a good week for me...

Postby Quirky » Tue Jul 03, 2007 7:29 pm

Slight mishap along Cobham Drive, i wont go into details, pics in the link below:

http://s155.photobucket.com/albums/s286/quirky_nz/

Just got the word from insurance and has said car will be paid out for its stated value.

So at this very moment i am looking for my future car, however, because of the "mishap" mum has a say in my car choice and says it must have airbags, which really limits my choice.

I have approx $10,000 to spend, and really don't want to spend that exact amount unless its a really mint car. Trademe doesn't really show me a good choice of cars, I've always wanted a 4agze Levin, but with no airbags, mums word is a no no.

So far, I've only found one car that has my interest:

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =105188042

Does anybody know if the owner browses these forums so i can contact him by email? And what do you guys reckon on that car? Can you suggest me some cars that are in the Wellington area? Should mention, i want a car that has a bit of "go" and would like another small hatch or coupe, could include station wagons i suppose...

After reading your post, an ae111 was exactly what i thought of, good car. I dont think you've got too many other options, celica maybe?

You got the option of buying your old car back? Selling the wheels? :)

keep in mind that has no airbag, which is mums no no factor coming in :P

You should be able to get a BZG or BZR for 5-7k leaving you some money to add a few bits if you wanted.

ST202 Celica with the BEAMS 3SGE?

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 46.htm?p=1 thats an example of one, and its manual. Theres a few more on trademe.

And there was a discussion about that Trueno, cos its had its drivers airbag replaced with a momo, which is a big no-no.

Yea, I've got that option, just waiting for them to call me back and see what they want for it. I'm not a fan of Celicas to be honest, cousin already has one.

Is that because it has the after market steering wheel?
Would it be possible to reconnect the original steering wheel with airbag?

Don't touch that car, the guy is on here somewhere.

Its come up so many times, the guy keeps promising to make it legal "at the weekend" but never does. Its dodgy. Plus its been for sale for ever, so someothing is wrong.

Lots of nice BZR's around though, i'd look for one. Your on the right track :D

Mr Revhead,
if you wern't joking about getting me a deal on a levin/trueno (i dont know what the difference is) id like to sort something out with you.

Also, whats the difference with: BZG and BZR, so far from what i can see, the BZG is a 5 speed, and the BZR is a 6 speed, any preference on which one i should purchase?

Not particularly keen on Currens, just a personal preference is all.
Looking at a late model face-lift Trueno, will see what happens.

Damn are there any panels left that are straight?

That Celica would be the business, except you'd need to change the center console as that looks worse that one ones found in a Holden!
