2JZ-GE common problems to look for?

My brother is looking at a car that has had a 2JZGE conversion, not sure on the exact year. ie if its VVti etc.

Is there any thing to look out for when he checks it out? eg coils, leaks, etc etc

Nothin really man, you'd have to be a complete monkey to really damage one. If its done over 140k's it will have leaky valve seals, no big deal. They run distributor so no coil problems, just check for service info, oil leaks from FMS + cam covers, good quality coolant etc, all the usual stuff. Chances are the engines in perfect condition.

As Gmacrae says not many issues arise. I personally haven't experienced any issues with mine (its at about 160K). In all honesty I think the only bit which I'll need to replace soon is the rocker cover gaskets. Beyond that its been reliable as hell, and has only required the usual oil and filter changes (between 92K to 160K)
