Na man im calling BS, they definitely have lower suspension (the executives anyway), and have for a long time - go get a mufty car and sit it next to a stock executive, big difference. Im also skeptical about the tyres, the tyres they fit on those steel rims are pretty wide compared to your average 16" commy treads - its the biggest giveaway when a mufty cop is coming at you before you can see the lights

^^ +1.. some coppers DO have a special suspension package.. theres a few for sale on TM now and then. or google ftw

up to at least the VS had the FE2( as used in the uprated Holden SS/ Clubsport and maybe Monaro) handling package as a factory option, have a look at the build plate of a cop (or ex-cop) car.
they also had a different auto fitted and were usually kitted.
just because they wern't modded as a new car at an NZ dealership, it does not mean they are standard.

If you watched that hostage situation in new lynn on the news, you'd see they also have a black nissan suv with the lights hidden in the grille :o. But its probably not a traffic cop..

most of the are sacked on their arse because of the amount of shite in the boot.

the v6's arent exactly slow past 100kmh.

evo's are heaps of shite.

EDIT: standard commodore tyres arent exactly skinny either!

im saying wht i am on solid proof and wht i definatly know. what are you basing yours on? why dont you ring the cops and ask them.

what non-sti wrx does 12.8 with just a filter and exhaust........ non-sti's are slow.

and a cop car which pulls out stationary on the side of the road, gaining on a 12sec car which flies past it at 160..
ill believe that when i see it............. BS

i cant see why they would bother "chipping" their cars.

How about 12sec car goes past at 111Km/h and cop car pursues at maximum acceleration, 12sec car then stops to pick up his ticket.

My car does, standard nz new 95 wrx. Forester block with wrx heads, standard TD05 turbo. All it has is a pod filter and a 2.5" from the turbo back. Ran a 12.87 at 14psi at night wars and consistant 12.9.

U've probably seen it as it races nearly everytime. is just a standard looking green version 2 with bronze DTM 17's.

Got third in night wars last year behind two 11 sec evos 8)

BTW, it makes 205kw on 14psi.

Last time I was in a police car I asked the guy whats the difference. He said a chip and suspension.

Also, the cops have a lot of interesting cars with flashing lights. In Christchurch I have seen a twin turbo GT wagon cop car. Usually they just adopt cars that they take off people for use in undercover work. There is a photo of that F150 pulling up a truck in Auckland somewhere, just waiting for someone bored to find it.

Hmmmm, sounds like a challenge? :D

...So in conclusion; cop cars are quicker and handle better than your average evo driving tool would believe, especially when being driven by someone that has the law on his side, and doesn't actually own the car he's beating the shit out of.

A hi 12 second 'wr-evo' isnt as quick as many people think, above 100ks a 15 second car with some grunt will keep up no sweat.
