that rod will be fine for boosting from what Ive seen in revs and detonation that will kill a rod. Good tune and youll be sweet

how much boost and what rpm is on your mind?

that rod looks like it would hold up fine, if you get lighter pistons than stock that would also help them

boost:
~ 14lb... but no doubt the boost bug will bite, so we'll see from there.

revs:
it redlines at 8300 at the moment, it can be pushed to 9000 with stronger valve springs, have seen(read on the net) about only 1 that has gone over there... so unless it is going to make a hell of a difference, 8500 is about all I'll go to(with the stronger valve springs for a bit of safety)

From all the research I did when considering the turbo 2ZZ,

the valve train is very fragile over 9000. not just the valve springs but they break retainers and the piece know as the lift pin.

But with enough boost ( then seem to handle boost well with the pistons being the waek point past near 400hp)
who needs 9000 rpm anyway.

Good to se a picture of the rods, as that was one if the item's I had questions about with high HP applications.

The guys in the US seem to have either much better gas, much better tuners, or far bigger balls than the rest of the 2zz world, there are guys there running upwards of 12lb boost on the stock internals(11.5:1 compression ratio, stock 300/330cc injectors, and a Greddy Emanage ultimate to alter things).

Certainly not something that I would be keen on.
