Number of teeth between markings on a 4age cambelt?

Postby True ah no » Sat Jul 28, 2007 6:59 pm

Right, Im in the process of assembling a 4age and come to the cambelt. The problem is that the belt does not have any markings and the ones at repco also dont as they are multi use. Can someone tell me the number of theeth between markings on a cambelt for a 4age 16 valve?

Thanks in advance!

What do you need the markings for? The markings are on your pullys.

Yeah there is no need for markings on a cambelt on a 4AGE. you can tell if the pulley's and crank are in the right place even with no cambelt.

All though, it pays to make sure you have the pullys on the right notch if you took them off the cams

Just had a look at the cambelt off my small port (just did a cambelt change) - absolutely no markings but it does not look to be a toyota genuine item...

even the genuine ones don't have marks.

Just line up all the pulleys ant rotate the crank 360 twice and make sure the pulleys all line up again, easy as that.
