Fault codes for subarus

Postby MRV8 » Tue Jul 31, 2007 8:35 pm

Hi all, this is a bit away from toyotas, I now have a 1994 GT legacy and was wandering if anyone could help me with fault codes. I have got 65 and 66. My mechanic cant even tell me what they mean. Any help much appreciated.

Who is the guy in CHCH trying to fix it?

I had a call from CHCH today about code 66,

Code 66 is Twin Turbocharger system.

Good luck, they are a bastard to fix,
we gst the local subaru dealer send them to us sometime's.

Basically check the boost, it will be too low, too high, or not match the airflow into the engine, or require the wrong duty cycle to the solenoid to get the right boost.

Possible fault are Turbo failure, boost leaks, vacuum hose leaks or unplugged, wiring or solenoid faults.

Code 65 i dont know off the top of my head.

When do you get the code 66? I get it too, but only when boosting 2nd turbo in top of 3rd, start of 4th gear. My boost pressure is too high... hitting about 16 psi, which is boost cut.

My problem is caused by my big black solenoid box of doom. its on the drivers side inner guard, in the engine bay, in front of the shock tower. Try swapping that out, or getting it checked by a subbie mech.

As for the 65. dunno.

I have a 93 GT wagon btw.

was it an auto one? There is a FWD fuse thats usually empty, but if you put a fuse in it it makes it FWD for towing apparently?
