amps and subs

hey guys.
ive got a ony xplode amp, 800w 2x 125rms.
now im looking at buying 2x10" pioneer subs 800w running at350rms each.
now im really bad with rms and etc so im wonder will this amp run both these subs or not?
let me know of you thoughts.

It will run them but it wont sound the best, ideally you want to match the rms or have the amp output slightly higher than the rms of the sub, that way when you crank it and the sub needs to go hard the amp isnt struggling to keep up therefore possibly damaging both... if you can find a single channel amp that will output 800w rms @ 2 ohms would be pretty much bang on if you ran the subs in parallel. Actually, whats the single channel output of that amp and does it list a 2 ohm output?

ummm well it says it will run bridged at 125w at 2ohms. if u were to use 1 channel i thnk ud get 4 ohms at 250 rms wuldnt you?? im not sure.
the amp is the sony xplode xm-1252GTR.

Amp won't be able to sufficiently power the subs you want to run.
Ideally you could run one sub off it, but not two.

One pioneer + a very well designed and built box will get you farther than 2 subs in a generic box and a medicore amp

i have been reading the specifications an it lists this.
Maximum outputs:
- 280Wx2 (at 4ohms)
-400Wx2 (at 2 ohms)
-800w (monaural) at 4 ohms

but these are all maximums.
i have been told by the guy at parallel imports that it dusnt look like its bridgable. but is it??

Yes. Given it lists a mono output.

Bridgeable to run a 4ohm load.

Ive got a new rockford fosgate amp for sale. Only used for about 15min. Still in box.
Its 300Wrms*1 into 4 ohm
and 600Wrms*1 into 2 ohm

On the birth certificate it shows that it puts out a bit more than that.

Also, as deecee stated, use a purpose built box, not a repco special.
