JZX100 with dead electricals.. SOLVED :)

Postby jondee86 » Sat Aug 11, 2007 1:24 pm

Chaser has been playing up... has needed to be jump started a few times,
which I put down to a flat battery. Yesterday, it was dead at the mall, and
needed to be jumped again. Started and ran fine, but with some of the
dash lights missing.

Today it is completely dead... not a light showing anywhere. I've checked
the battery (fully charged) and cleaned the terminals.

So... does anyone have any idea what can kill the electrics so totally that
not even the clock lights up with a fully charged battery connected ????

The only thing I can think of is a main fuse, so I check that as soon as the
weather improves. But kind of weird for that to crap out when the car is
parked up !!

Cheers... jondee86

Postby jondee86 » Sat Aug 11, 2007 10:19 pm

Does anyone have a basic jzx100 wiring diagram they can send
me, or have a working link to anywhere I can download a diagram ??

Fkn surface charge.....

Yup... even though the battery showed fully charged on the charger, as
soon as it was back in the car with a bit of parasitic load applied... flat
as a..... really flat thing :-| New battery in and good as gold :)

Sometimes a load tester would be a handy thing to have in the shed !!

i've found the battery to be the weakest link many a time, so its always the first thing i swap out.

good to see you got it sorted :)
