My MR2 doesnt work with the old mans Snap on one. And the MAP should be on the firewall and called vacume array sensor or manifold pressue assembly possibly.

Should work 100% with a scan tool,
Fault codes and live data.
Map sensor will be labelled turbocharger pressure sensor probably.
Could be a faulty ECU, but that normally only happens with the 20V's not the GZE's, but anything is possible.

you do have the map sensor hooked up on the engine side of the TB right? not to your new AFilter pipe!

Map sensor is located by the coil packs and pass side of the intercooler.

Also make sure that Pod filter hasnt lost the little centre cap and sucked it into the top of the housing, they are cronic for that, Ive come across that on a 4agze, wouldnt rev past 3k. Cost him like 2.5k worth of sparky and mechanic bills before I found the problem

its a small black box with a single small vac hose, under the cooler pass side. The vacuum hose taps in by No1 intake runner from memory.

at the back of the rocker covers, under the intercooler, around the coil pack area where the h/t leads are. If you were to stand infront of your car lean over and hold yourself up with both hands either side of the intercooler, it would be round about where your centre finger rhand is...

if you dont get that...well... you need a kick in the $#@! :D

Lol!!!! cheers mate! Well i grounded T1 at the ECU itself and NOTHING. sweet f-all self diagnosis. ill check the map sensor now

Im starting to think perhaps i did short something in the ECU. oh well...on the bright side, needed a tune up after that airbox was put in anyway :)

well the map sensor looks fine. ill just pop my ecu out and take it around to shendian to comb over..

At the least, it will eliminate the computer from the equation

Id check for vac at the sensor itself with a gauge just incase you mixed the hoses up? just be careful not to break the map sensor when your pulling the hose off, they are pretty fragile.

if that checks out ok, it elimanates that from the equation.

We have had mechanical warranty companies make us send ECU's to them for repairs before too I think.
