TURBO MOUNTING ANGLE

Postby Voyeur » Fri Aug 17, 2007 12:50 pm

Hey guys, i am just doing the final planing for my 20V turbo conversion, and have a question on the placement of the turbo. If i mount the turbo with the inlet on a 30 degree angle then it will give me less headaches in clearance for the oil filter, and also less bends in th IC pipework. Is this ok or should the turbo be kept as close to horrizontal as possible

MOST turbo's you can rotate the housings around the center section. try keep the oil feed/drain as vertical as possible, although some manufacturers have a limit on the angle the oil feed/return can be

idealy the turbo should be dead flat... but this is not the case some times..
the compressor cover & turbine housing should be level,
the bearing housing, Garrett recomend no more that 22deg off centre line.
