A honda integra xsi, just a 1.8vtec and strip it right out.

That will go fast and its NA.

I had a evo, i used to get about 310K to 45L of gas driving it pretty nicely.

If i was rough that tank could get sucked up in under 100k..

I'd go for an S/C AW11 to be honest. Supercharger gives you that down low stuff to get off the line, and the mid engine helps keep the rears on the ground.

$6k would get you a really mint one too. Trouble is finding one that is mint!

Also, the S/C has an electric clutch which is throttle controlled, so if you don't put your foot down heavily, it shouldn't be too bad on the gas.

Plus it'll be quite nippy when you find out what corners are :P
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

45 litres in under 100k, shoot...
Though with that said, i have managed to run a fxgt from full tank to near empty in 120km with brisk driving, and a very heavy foot

So you want a cheap, fast, non-turbo car that costs little to run.... and want a WRX? Alright...

Why not spend less than half of what you are planning on spending and buy an auto S13 with an SR20 in it and either save the rest or make the car into somewhere comfortable to be? Loved my old one and wish I could have it back. Wasn't bad on gas and went pretty well to, nice around town and nice on the open road. Even liked having the auto after a while

Less face it, you want something quick and are worried about money. This will likely mean you'll get something with a 1.6L ish engine and rape the ass off it and it'll cost you lots anyway. Either that or you'll buy the WRX and decide its fast... and rape the ass off it and t'll cost you lots of money. Or you'll crash it. And it'll cost you lots of money.

Work out what you actually want the car for. As has been said many times: Fast, Cheap and Reliable. Pick only two.

i agree! cant believe it took so long for someone to mention a dirty old aussie assembled monster.

if you really want something fast for that price, get a bike.

what about some form of corolla with a 4age in it? they're pretty cheap these days and they go alright for what they are, you could grab an FX-GT or similar and probably have some spare coin to do a few cheap mods to it, intake, headers, exhaust, maybe some good brake pads and cheap mags, rip all the surplus junk out of it and you've got something half decent.

you can pick one up on trademe for under $4k and parts are abundant and cheap!

Yes they will use more gas, alot more if you drive them hard, And if your N/A Celica was stolen good luck with not getting an Evo or WRX stolen, and even more luck with getting insurance for one 8O

I'm not sure what version celica you had, but why not look for an SS3 Celica with the beams engine, They go well.

Failing that an AE92 FXGT, Vtec civic/integra/CRX, AE111 Levin/Trueno if you want to have a little bit of go in N/A form

you think i would struggle for even theift insurance now?

my celica used to run at 3500rpm (7krpm redline) at 110km on open road it is set stock with a high ratio and so it used quite alot of gas anyway

Doesn't sound anything out of the ordinary. At 100km/h (the speed limit) I think an SW20 sits right on 3000rpm.

My GTR Rona coupe (same as a Celica) sits at 3200 at 100km/h and is bloody good on gas. It's better on gas than my old 3SFE Rona sedan. Realisticly you're living in a dream land if you expect something that's gonna be cheap to buy, run and insure and fast at the same time.

yeah I would have suggested some thing like that if he hadn't mentioned his concern about fuel economy or preferring an na. I would have also considered a vr4 as not much can hold one of those off at the lights haha. Auto turbo r33 skylines go for quite cheap too
