what car is this gearbox from?

was told it came off a silvertop out of 92 levin. but the passenger side engine mount is different.

bellhousing looks right but havent tried fitting it yet.

Starlet box by the looks of it.

so its for a 4efte? or did the starlets also come with a 4age?

They only came with the E series as far as I know, but then who knows.

You'll find that it probably won't bolt up to the 4a, there is no front engine mount and the rear one is different as well as the side mount thingy,

It does have the same spline as the C52, but it has a different gearbox code.

front and rear mounts look like theyll bolt up to it fine, bellhousing looks almost identical, except the starter is offset about 20mm compared to the c52. so wont line up with the backing plate.
left mount is the main problem.

If i find a number stamped on it anywhere will it tell me anything?

IIRC I it came off a 4efte starlet it is a c52.. but with a bellhousing for an e series motor.
internals will be the same as a 20v c52if it is so you could swap the bellhousings over. Not sure how straightforward this is.

thats not a c52, metal end case usually means c150, by the looks of that mount. its from a starlet or cynos or similar. off a 2e, 4efe or 5e. not a turbo model as they run a c52/c56
