Like I just said, no flashes at all from light when terminals bridged, even at ecu. Yes i am aware that the timing remains static when they are bridged, thanks for that.
The factory manual says if there is a ecu program fault it will lock the timing at 10 degrees regardless of engine speed, and fix the pulse witdh from the tps and light the check light, which it seems exactly what mine has done.

No flashes is not right (but I'm sure you knew that already ;)), it should flash continuously. Either the ECU is faulty, which is an extremely rare occurence or the CEL, or diagnostics port wiring is incorrect

As mentioned before even bridging the terminals right back at the ecu produces no codes, and seeing as the CEL works fine when it comes on solid one must assume it is ok. It does say in the manual when the ecu goes into back up mode the light will show all the time and no codes will be output, as well as the timing being static and the injector pulse width etc. So, this may be a rare case of ecu failure. Who knows what may have happened to it before I got it.

I take it by no codes you mean no flashes, which of course is not the same thing.

Only solution is to try another ECU, if that exhibits the same problem then it's the wiring, if not then replace the ECU.

Yes of course I should have said no flashes, and yes I am trying to find another ecu to try, but easier said then done. Found one guy with one, but its manual. Checked and rechecked all the wiring and all is good. So, do you happen to have one lol

kinda hard for the light to be onn all the time and flash.

I think what it means is that when a fault occours the light will come on but not flash a code out.

To get it to flash the code you bridge the check connector.

If the light circuit works correctly and there is no flashing of the CEL when you bridge the pins correctly the ECU is faulty,
so long as the ecu also has the correct power and earth supplies.
