SC14 max RPM = ~11.5k thanks.

Anyone know what the max RPM an SC14 will operate at?

Most superchargers seem to have max RPM limits, but I can't find any info on the SC14 in this regard.

From a fair bit of reading, I managed to find out that they were spun at 1.25 x crank in the 1ggze, even up until the latest use of the 1ggze that redlines at 7000RPM, which suggests that Toyota think that 8750 is about the limit.

After market wise, people have been using pulley sizes pushing it closer to a 1.4 x crank, giving 9800.

A few after market users have had them on Nissan RB30s running at 1.5 crank, again with a ~7500RPM redline, so 11250RPM, and the guy doing it had been doing so for the last 4 years over ~40000kms.

So until I can find any more info on it, it seems that 11250-11500 is about it.

They also don't like giving more than 1bar... so you would have to stay under that limit too.

They also get quite hot... personally I'm keen on running on with an external oil cooler to see what can be done with them.

the oil cooler wont do much
the oil just lubes the gears on the end, thats not the issue with heat.
the issue is the heat of the intake charge heating up too much
and also supposedly the coating of the lobes over heating

hmmm, maybe make a water jacket for them... run 3-4mm copper tubing around them(meaning around and around), and pump water through the tubes, and into an oil cooler... keep the whole unit cooler :)

heh... like this... only with an SC14, not a water purifier.

lots... but this is the sort of thing I think about.. innovative ways of doing stuff.

Theres no reason why you couldn't coil copper piping around your intercooler pipe work, and run something super super cold through it to chill it to sub-0 temps, and that would in turn cool the air charge, admittedly not a lot... but it's the start of an idea that could be used for this, or maybe elsewhere :)

Ethanol freezes at -114C... even if it chilled the air in the pipe to near 0 it would be dense as all hell

Just make a water jacket arround the charger. Would be much better than copper tubin, + it will look neater. Use one of those subaru W2A radiators to cool other and and an electric water pump. Hell you can even make W2A intercooler system to cool the supercharger as well.

My bro has put an sc14 charger in his s14 silvia and i think it redlines just on 9k like was said earlier. The rest of the car is pretty stock other than the exhaust/manifold and the f/m ic and it's making 160kw at the wheels. I'll try and get some pics posted. But yeah it goes pretty hard.
