Late model surfs, Any good?

Postby subedoo » Mon Sep 03, 2007 8:44 pm

Has anyone had any experience with later model surfs, 1998-2000 model 3 lt turbo diesels? I know the earlier 2.4s were gutless and had over heating problems, have there been any similar probs in this model?

Thanks for any help

2.4 and the 3.0 are completely different engines, 1kz-te is one of toyotas finest creations imho.

Remember theres 2 3L diesel engines, one is turbo (1KZ-TE) and other isnt (5L-E i think). Not sure which ones the surf has, but both are good engines.

surf had the 1kz 3 litre turbo diesel
the kzn185s appear to be better than the earlier kzn130s
