hey what i get from the part bout the 3t internails is that they are better balanced so would the 2t stuff be fine if i get it balanced??
(im trying to sort everything out as soon as posibail so dont relly have time to stuff round looking for engin parts that i dont actuly need)
whats better bout the 3t push rod pistons??

is there alot of point with cam grind? or will it be fine if i just grind them enough for a bit of a gain? (as i sed above its not gonna be over the top or anything coz its a daily driver) or is the gain not worth the $$??

and people keep saying 2 1/4" - 2 1/5"

i want to have 2 exausets the whole way under the the car right out to the back!!! so plz can somone tell me what size pipe's ill need for good proformance

thanks

EDIT: jut got some pics of my pistons and the dome in the heaid

That is exhaust piping size, two and a quarter inch pipe
or two and a half inch pipe

3tgt has a better crank if you can find one(3tgt has 8 counter weights 3t has 4)

2t 3t and 3tgt use the same length rods - again 3tgt are stronger but a little heavier, unless your going for turbo or huge revs then 3t/2t should be fine

to use a 3t crank you have to use 3t pistons - 2t pistons on 3t crank will mash in to head as the pin hight is different

3t pistons have 9:1 comp
3tgt have 7.8:1 comp

if you want to go NA use 3t pistons, but make sure you check the piston to valve clearence if using a 2tg head

i hope that helps some

also using two 1.5 inch pipes will give the same volume as a 2.2 inch
so that would be a good place to start

you will lose power and get worse fuel economy if you split it due to losing scavenging.

similar flow/size in theory, but you wont get it due to higher surface area in proportion.

*1.5 gives a cross sectional area of 11.40cm squared, 2.25 gives 25.64cm squared(just noted that you said 2.2, not 2.25, so ignore this if you want... although 2.2" pipe may be fairly hard to source, usually only .25" steps are easily available)

i agree with you here
the above was just a quick comparison done without a calculator

ok the exaust thing is one ill comprimise on... that one is for looks and sound :D
my frend sed it would be better to just buy cams for it (trd ones or somthing) insted of grinding my stock ones, is he right on this? (he has had alot of bad ideas and stuff in the past)
if so who does the best cams??

thnx

You'd be hard pressed to find off the shelf cams for a 2T anymore.
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

be lucky finding anything after market for a 2TGEU.

looks like the later head to me i reckon a better 1 to start with. ( but thats just my opinion.

3t cranks also stroke the engine to 1.8 liter. torque is you friend.

to spend as little as possible i would use Chrome rings, surface the head as much as it allows, balance internals flywheel and front pulley, lighten the flywheel, extractors and exhaust, and a good air filter.

my cam grind was Kellford N65, didn't interfere with ECU at all gave me some better power in high revs and a nice idle.

good info here.

ok im probaby gonna stick with the 2t internails and
balance internails, front pully lighten and balance flywheel, ill see how much itl be for cams as i can do them at a later date relitivly easily, exracters and coustem exhaust with a desent pod filter and probly a cold air box

oh yeah what is the advantage of chrome rings over normail ones????
