MMC Single Car Circuit Sprint 6 October 2007

1. TITLE OF COMPETITON
The Competition shall be known as the MMC single car circuit sprint
2. PROMOTERS
The promoters of the competition are the Mitsubishi Motorsport Club Inc (MMC). All correspondence should be addressed to the:

The Competition will be held on Saturday 6th October 2007. Gates will open from 7:30am. Documentation and scrutineering is to begin at 7:30am. A drivers briefing will occur at 8:30am at the venue. Attendance is compulsory. A roll call may be taken.
All drivers are expected to be ready for the first practise session to begin at 9:00am. The venue will close for competition at 4.30pm.
4. STATUS OF COMPETITION
The competition is a Clubsport Basic Single Car Circuit Sprint, held under the National Sporting Code of Motorsport NZ, the permit number is: 26944 and licensed Clubsport Organiser is: Roger Barnes, C.O.W. # 21442.
5. VENUE
The venue is the Taupo Motorsport Park, Corner of Broadlands Road, Taupo. Access to the complex via gate 2; which is off Centennial Drive.
Track 3 (approx 1.3km) will be used.

7. ENTRIES
These open with the publication of these regulations. Entries are to be made on the correct form and to be deemed valid must be complete in all details and accompanied by the appropriate fees. Acceptance will be at the organising committee’s discretion and as a result of scrutineering requirements. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry in accordance with the prescribed provisions of the National Sporting Code and these regulations. No entries will be taken on the day of the event.

FEES: The entry fee is $90.00 (which includes GST) and MUST accompany the official entry form. Cheques shall be made payable to Mitsubishi Motorsport Club INC. You are not entered until the entry fee is received!!
Late entries: Entries received after the 29th of September 2007 will incur an additional fee of $20 (i.e. $110 total).
NUMBER OF STARTERS: The organisers reserve the right to abandon the event if less than 35 entries are received before the 29th of September 2007. The maximum number of starters will be 70 with the option of running an additional five reserves at the discretion of the Clerk of Course on the day. Any additional entries will be placed on the reserve list in order of receipt.
8. COMPETITOR REQUIREMENTS: in signing the entry forms competitors are deemed to fully understand the relevant articles and regulations as contained in the NZ Motorsport Manual, No 33. This is also a declaration that the vehicle they are competing in is up to all required standards.
All Vehicles shall comply with Schedule A, Part 2 of Motorsport Manual 33.
Further to the provisions of Schedule A, vehicles in this event if fitted with roll protection, must be either homologated or fitted by the Original Equipment Manufacturer.
9. SCRUTINEERING / DOCUMENTATION
Scrutineering and documentation is as per Schedule A of the NZ Motorsport Manual No 33. Scrutineering and documentation will be:
- Wellington. Datadots – 7pm Wednesday 3rd of October. 110 Whakatiki Street Upper Hutt (beside Autoworx...around the back).
- Auckland - TBA
- Taupo - the day of competition (6th October 2007), at the venue, between 7.30am and 8.30am.
It would be appreciated if competitors could attend if possible the Wellington or Auckland Scrutineering. This will save time on the day.
ALL DRIVERS MUST POSSESS AND PRODUCE THE FOLLOWING
FOR INSPECTION AT DOCUMENTATION:
• Current Civil Drivers Licence
• Current Motorsport NZ Affiliated Car Club Membership card
• Tyres intended for use at the events
• Log Book (if required)
• Entrant / Driver declaration of vehicle compliance with Schedule A.
• The vehicle which the competitor intends to compete in
All vehicles must be presented in a clean tidy condition. Drivers who are not members of a Motorsport NZ Affiliated Car Club can purchase a day affiliation membership from the Organising Club (Mitsubishi Motorsport Club) for $10, or an annual membership for $30.
10. PRACTICE / OFFICIAL RUNS
Non timed practice will occur between 9am and midday. An attempt will be made to group competitors during the practice session in groups of similar lap speeds. Each group will complete 6 laps before returning to the pit.
A half hour break for lunch will begin at midday.
Timed competition will begin at 12.30pm. In this section, competitors will perform an ‘out lap’ where they emerge from pit lane and make one warm-up lap of the track. Once the start/finish line, is crossed, timing of the lap will begin, and the vehicle is timed over one complete lap of the 1.3km ‘Track 3’ circuit configuration. After the timed lap is completed, competitors will then make one final ‘In Lap’ before returning to pit lane.
The event organisers are free to use whichever method of timing they choose, which includes, but is not limited to stopwatches.
Timed competition will continue until track closure at 4.30pm. Competitors will run in the nominated running order. Competitors will be given one or more timed runs. Only the competitor fastest lap will count towards the results. For the purpose of timing the start / finish line will be adjacent to the pit lane and will be marked by cones.
11. PASSENGERS
Passengers will be permitted as per the conditions of Schedule C, Part 1. Please let the Start Line Marshals know whether you intend to carry passengers so that they can sign an indemnity form. It is the competitors responsibility to inform their passenger of basic event safety procedures, and how to correctly wear and subsequently uncouple the safety harness.
12. PROTESTS
Protests shall be in accordance with the National Sporting Code and directed to the Clerk of Course on the day. Please note that this is a fun event.
13. PROVISIONAL / FINAL RESULTS
Provisional results will be presented at prize giving.
Final results will be posted on the MMC club website (
www.mmc.org.nz). In addition competitors will be emailed the results if an email address is provided.
14. BEHAVIOUR
Competitors are requested to drive considerately to and from the event. Alcohol and drugs are not permitted. Random breath alcohol tests may be conducted throughout the day. All competition numbers must be removed while the competition car is outside the venue.
Competitors are requested to refrain from familiarising themselves with the course prior to competition commencing, we remind you that venues are not easy to obtain and any abuse of this privilege will not be tolerated.
15. CLASSES
The following classes will apply:
A 0-1300cc
B 1301-1600cc
C 1601-2000cc
D 2001cc-Over
Note: The engine displacement includes the MSNZ equivalence factors. For a turbocharged engine the real engine displacement is multiplied by 1.7.
16. PRIZEGIVING
Following the conclusion of the competition a prize giving will be held.
VENUE: At the competition venue.
TIME: Approx 20min after last car finishes (provided we receive help from competitors to clean up)

17. EVENT CANCELLATION
In the event that the event is cancelled then all pre-entered competitors will be contacted on the phone number provided and/or via the email address provided as soon as practical. Signage will also be displayed at the track entrance.
