The same hub that has the thread damage also has an undersized bearing locating face, I believe a sleeve could be used to fix this I suspect at not much cost! Spray welding could be another option to repair the hub?....

or i could look at finding a bearing the right size that allows for this.

or should i not touch them?

cheers

If you can not buy new parts at a good price get them 'metal sprayed'
Whatever you do don't put it together as it will $&#$% a new bearing asap!

There are plenty of Toyota IRS swing arms for your car - just find some other ones and use them.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

i ended up doing a sleeve on a wheel bearing of mine, if your going pay someone to machine it its not really worth it but if you have the gears at home whats the worst that can happen? you reck it and have to pick another one up anyway!!!
