new tyres opinion for caldina gt-t

Hi all,
i am getting new tyres soon for my caldina 215/45/r17, i had search through and most seems to prefer goodyear gs-d3... i am currently using bridgestone potenza re040 and i found them quite noisy, i supposed it is the same with goodyear?

anyone able to give good deals for brand new tyres in Hamilton?

can't fault goodyear gs-d3 tyres, they may make road noise (I have a stereo so never notice) but any road noise is a small downside to an awesome all weather tyre

use the original rims with the factory fitted 65 profile tyres you'll never feel potholes again

nothing wrong with gsd3's, awesome tyre and heaps of lateral grip in the wet. not too noisy either, very bearable.
they have near maximum grip from cold tyre temperature, but are very bad for track days tho , they will overheat quickly and fall apart in chunks.

how about dunlop direzza, are they any good?
their thread pattern doesnt look as good as gs-d3 though

yeah they are good too, those two tyres would be the ones i'd choose first. Direzza's being cheaper may make them better value.

I think the Goodyears are slightly better than Direzzas. Either tyre will be sweet tho

i have 19's and running dunlop super sports 215/35/19 and on tein suspension handling is sweet as

I'm running Dunlop Direzzas 215/40/18 and can't complain, sticks well and road noise is minimal compared to soome nangkangs (sp?) I used to run on old car

just out of curiousity, when getting new tyres, do you people look for the manufacturer date of the tyre or just only care that it is new with the sticker

for e.g the manufacturer date on the sidewall 1007 = manufactured tenth week of 07

cause sometime i think when the shop said new tyre it might be 2 years old? rubber degrade even when they are not used isnt it

Goodyear gs3 or whatever they are called...

Still havnt lost the arse in the mr2 whereas i could flick it out pretty easy previously.... And as already said... fantastic handling in the wet... it holds past where i am prepared to push it...

Bridgestone RE-001 Adrenaline.

Run them on the ITR, very, very impressed thus far. Excellent in the wet, they performed very well at an incredibly waterlogged Taupo trackday (heaps of standing water) and seem to be very communicative and progressive when being hammered in dry conditions. A bit noisy but you get that, an ITR is always gonna be anyway

Reasonably priced, and I'll likely be getting another set for my 16's.

another vote for gsd3's here, im running 215/45/17's mate has some adrenalines, good tyres but they were about 300-400 more than what i paid for my eagle f1's ($720)

this is what i get from some tyre shop in hamilton (probably i should shop around more) anyone in hamilton able to give good deals for them?
mine sound a lot more expensive

I not long ago picked up a set of Toyo T1-R's to put on my road car. Have to say im very impressed with them in both the wet and the dry. They feel alot more stable that the direzza's i've used previously. Only time will tell as to how long they will last though.

Some rubber needs to "age"/"cure" aswell, so newer isn't always better.
