So it has to be Subaru. reason they are everywhere, they were one of the most popular cars of the 90's! Good value for money performance.
How's 650km's from a tank of gas in a V4 STI (approx $80) for economy? It's all about how you drive them.
IMO they sound great, You should also know that the version 8 onwards don't have the rumble as they have equal length headers.
Ever driven a stock STI of any vintage? you may be pleasantly surprised

I went from driving an AE111 20V Levin, to a V4 STI, I know it's not as fast as my old 20V

that's the beauty of an opinion, it doesn't need rationality and reason to be an opinion.
Yeah go the Bug eyes!!! (I didn't like them at first, but in WR Blue Mica, wide guards, they look so great it changed my mind)

Of course 20V > everything else

Do you think maybe they were laughing because you looked like a boyracer wanting to race them, lights went green and they watched you speed off making an ass of yourself thinking you had just beat a WRX in your corolla and they wound the windows up because they thought you might try and talk to them and be their friends?

had/have a corolla then upgraded. my MR2 isn't a hairdresser one it's not red!

I'd chose VW Beetles, of any vintage as my most hated car. The old ones are evil handling bastard things, the new ones are a VW Golf repackaged to have less room in them, and appeal to female real estate agents.
