Is there a question involved here...?

Check codes and see what you get. Bridge TE1 and E1 in diagnostics box, count the flashes and compare codes to this: viewtopic.php?t=35814

Chances are it will bring up the code to tell you the speedo signal is not working.

Funny that :p, id say everyones right mostly Matt, sounds like the engine check light is coming on to tell you somthings wrong, but in this case it isnt somthign hidden such as knock sensor its somthing ovious thats allready shown its self to be an issue to your self Ie your Speedo not working.

So check the codes to confirm ( what you allready know )and or save time and just head right into fixing the issue.

Diagnose with borrowing another ecu for eg use that if no issues your ecu is snuffed, so look to replace etc etc.
