The R34 GTR Skyline was $125,000 Brand new in New Zealand

Considering the previous post to yours said the most expensive is $97,000 NZD... NAH! Why listen to that! You're obviously right :)

Err, those are the retail prices in japan.. add GST, shipping etc to get the price a private importer will be able to bring them in for. Then add profit margin :)

As for official imports... Well, lets just say i cant see those coming in cheap... Official import = official parts and service support, and thats a serious amount of overhead.

Lith wrote:Why? What quintessential thing differentiates those from the Nissan GTR aside from being European and more expensive? The GTR is fast as buggery in a straight line, corners well, stops well, has an awesome transmission, has looks which people will argue about, it hasn't even hit the roads and people are paying attention to it.

Its beaten some of the hardest hitters (with video instead of pub talk to back it up) and its going straight into SuperGT so will follow on the "GT-R" racing heritage.

yeah... but its a NISSAN 8O

:P

yeah other side of 100k me thinks, for the reasons just mentioned

Im with you there.

The front reminds me of White Goodmans' (Ben Stiller) moustache in Dodgeball.

Radio controls remind me of Moon Base Alpha for some reason. Look like cotton reels glued to a shoe box.

I quite like it, very aggresive look and the rear end definitely very nice, looks like lots of oppurtunity for aftermarket exterior pieces too, would definitely look awesome in a different colour and on some nice racing style wheels...

power galore too 8O

Theres only one thing lacking in the list of 'SuperCar' ingredients.

The engine is in the wrong end of the car!

Also, can it get to 200mph?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

It doesn't have top speed specs published anywhere that i can find.. but 353kW , a Cd of 0.27 and a 340kph speedo suggests that it should get somewhere close :D

Heh. My N/A SW has a 260kph speedo.... :P

From what I've read around places, it seems that it gets up to 193mph. So close!

Specs look awesome, car looks like something out of a very low budget space movie... grotesque I think would properly describe it.

Although the only GTR I have ever liked is the R33... the R34 looks like an overgrown toad from the back and the R32 is just plane fugly!

No, that would have been if he had said "The only GT-R I liked is the Toyota one...". Don't take that the wrong way.

R33 GT-R are my favourite too, all of R34 GT-Rs visual changes look inspired by lego to me. R32 GT-Rs can look mean though, they do get me from time to time.

R33's are Poos :P ....

I think this new one will be a really cool car, and that drivetrain setup sounds crazy. I think we need some cross sectional photo's to see how it works propperly.

C10 GT-R owns all.

Actually, make it the PGC10.... hell yes. All these new-fangled 4WD whizz-bang electro rocketship pile of crap things can take a walk, I'll take a triple carbed S20, 5spd dog box, RWD and a woodrim steering wheel thankyou very much. And 4 doors.

Yeah there is no point arguing that - they are at a different level in terms of coolness to the R32, R33 and R34.

Why is everyone comparing it to the Veyron? In all honesty its really not THAT good a car i mean all it can do is go like shit down a straight bit of road. Ive seen a vid somewhere of a Lotus Exige keeping up with one on a track :?
The GTR looks alright i spose but i still think its lacking what the others had ie made to go quick and not a as 'tuner' as such.
