Vehicle transport from Hokitika to Wellington - info

Postby Taranskyn » Wed Nov 14, 2007 12:52 pm

Anyone know some good deals on getting a car transported from Hokitika to Wellington? :)
The car is lowered but clearance should be good.

Cheers,
Vince

hokitika could be interesting, not sure who operates over there.

usually cheaper to grab a flight down and drive it home. almost guarnteed to save you some $$$ seeing as its from Hoki and not a big centre

check it daily as i've seen cheap as flights to hokitika

i found it was cheaper to hire a trailer and drive over than it was to get a carrier.
because it isn't SH1, they charge bucketloads as there is little demand.

try TNL Freighting to see what price they can do to get it to the Blenhiem or Picton yard.

thanks for the suggestion guys. I am thinking of getting an AE70 from Hokitika to Well but just found out from Jeff's that it will cost like $1k+ to get it shipped LOL :(

the other reason that is making me to not fly down and get it is I am afraid the car won't make it to Picton to cross the Cook Strait (it's still running on original 4K + 4 speed)

so still thinking about whether i should get it not... ;o

If it's cheaper to get it shipped from Christchurch I could drive it to Christchurch for you if you want. I go to Hokitika about every 2nd or 3rd weekend and wouldn't mind. And if it broke down that would be cool-I have a free years subscription with AAplus and wouldn't mind and excuse to make the bastards pay.

4k is superior to 3a though, thats probably why it has a 4k instead. :)
