It's only a 2zz-ge ex celica etc - get the engine take it too Lynn Rogers pay $$$ and hey presto. They are dry sumped and I'd say the sequential box makes them, you'd atleast need a close ratio box to suit

haha they don't really rev that much. :lol: pritty much the same as stock
but the vvti'l is good thought, kicks you back in the seat :twisted:
why not a motor bike motor??? you would have to keep the CC's small if you want to rev heaps

Forgive me if im wrong but i just dont think Bike motors will give the same response in a car as a car engine..? Plus they may be a real pain to maintain - as bike engines can be - so the car engine would be more reliable..

I was passenger in a Westfield XTR2 around Taupo last weekend and the Hayabusa engine definitely had more than enough poke to move that thing... however they do weigh a smidge under 500kg wet so Graham was saying.... 8)

Not a production engine, but there a few companies building v8's from 2 motorbike engines, I saw one at the nz motorsport expo a few months back using 2 kawasaki 1100 heads, billet block etc, and there is a couple of hayabusa v8's, they are 2.8l, and 400hp @12,000 rpm!

of course you'll need a lot of coin for these thou!

Find a spoon modified b18cr or b16b, can rev to 11,000rpm all day long, few articles around about them if ya look hard enough,

my mates 4k hits 12.000rpm if it wants to.its been worked as tho.still didnt really cost to much

He needs to select the "4 cylinder" mode on his rev counter. :lol:

he does have it on 4,it got heaps of stuff from other motors in it,shorter stroke but bigger bore.reves it nuts off

its not uncommon to find old motors that scream really high, there is a white ford escort Mexico rep in chch, that screams way past 9k and its still using the old push rod sohc. the guy who owns it works across the street from my grease monkey, and i had a chat with him cos he was interested in my car. his car scared the hell out of me, and he said my car scared the hell out of him(going side ways)

you will also find those motes have had $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ spent on them...... leaving them with very few original parts....

my pic would be a yamaha r1 engine, this is what i'm plannign on using when i build my tiny go kart middle next year. it's gonna scream :twisted:

Personally I'd probably use a Honda engines... they seem to rev quite freely, and do it reliably, and that would be more important to me...

If a bike engine is appropriate for the way your heading, then a hayabusa engine seems to be the way to go, although I've also heard very good things about the yamaha R1.

Would love a go-kart with one of them in it, although I'm not sure I want to die that quickly.

I`m a fan of the k series engine but there`s no way they do 12,000 rpm if it by some major miracle did it will be over the top of its powerband.
As for standard 4age ftw come out to ruapuna sometime and see 4ks and 3ks drilling 4ages into the weeds.
