One is a factory built, manufacturer warrantied vehicle, the other is a hybrid home (albeit in a workshop) built job.

Yeah, heard of it happening on a mini before 8O

Well if it applys to all evos then you will probably soon see blankets become pretty common, just as they are for teh lawnmowers

This sort of comment is one I always find funny... you can't afford $400 to cover it, yet you would have had to spend how much to get into the catagory where it is required?

Surely it doesnt apply to every Evo like some of you are saying?
Its just that its piss easy to get an evo into the 11's compared to other cars? Theres more 'east/west' engined mitsubishis running the quicker times then any other make which is why they mentioned them
2011 Ford Mondeo tdci.

Hey, at least it sounds like a 3s.

Sorry that was a bit vague, was meaning the earlier ones like this:

Personally would want at least a blanket for that one (Or a different engine)...

in the case of early evo's, you really only need the ticket price of an evo, an exhaust, filter, and some malicious driving. a few people have run under 12 sec like that.

also situations change , in my case buying a house has left me with an expensive car and not the funds to compete in it :?

My car has filter and exhaust mods, boost controller, and i dipped into the 11's. I run consistent flat 12's all day.

my point almost remains...

$400 for a cover is hardly expensive when compared to the evo ticket price plus exhaust and filter, let alone adding boost controller, hell, it's less than two decent tires.

Cough cough.. Bullshit... Cough cough. Mate, your car has more than those mods to get into the 11's, I had an EVO 2 RS with an exhaust system, intake and boost controller when I was a kid and the fastest it ran was a 12.6 at the maximum boost the factory turbo could provide.
