SW20 loss of power

Postby Redd » Mon Nov 12, 2007 1:32 pm

There is something not quite right with my car ever since I reshelled it. My old white car was basiclly standard apart from 3 inch exhaust after dump pipe, bov and a pod filter on 13psi and ran a 13.8 in 15inch 195s and now my new red one has a ceramic CT20b turbo, xs power intercooler and xs power dump pipe on 9psi and ran a 14.7 on 15inch 205s the other week at the first night drags. It really does just feel gutless compared to what it used to be and I actually lost to an na honda  I've just bought an apexi avc-r and I'm planning on fitting it this weekend which may help my problem but my real question is shouldn't my car be just as fast if not faster then the old one even though it is running lower boost?

No, you need to be pushing at least 13psi. 9psi is pissing in the wind.

Yeah but considering the mods you have done you have highflowed the air system with the intercooler, better piping, better flowing turbo, flowing exaust dump pipe assembly

So it makes sence that the boost level will lower as the engines restrictons have been lowered

Boost pressure does not always mean a slower time
