I'm pretty sure you mean the TA64 :P

What was the Group 4 car that preceeded the TA64? RA63 maybe???

Won the 83 Rally of NZ from memory.

google says 1982 ra63 won it

and id say being 1982, group 4 would be the class.

Good man :)

Gotta say i have two rotaries but i hate the "rotahead" mentality.. And the "Hoonda" mentality too

The old TA and RA Celica's for me - a fan of mustangs and the Jap mustangs were far better handlers :)

I'd only have a Supra if it was modded to the max - otherwise too slow and cumbersome (sorry supra lovers)

Close enough, I love that shape Celica with the sloping pop-up but not quite pop-up headlights eh.... I know where an RA63 GT is sitting rotting in a paddock, complete as well.

I also dig X30 and X40 series Mark II/Chaser's, especially hardtops. YUM.

MS51 Crown coupes as well 8O So many lush old Toyotas to choose from. Basically the wheels fell off in the mid/late 80's and everything from then on was boring and sucked. :P

CENTURY ALL UP IN Y0 GREEYYULL!!!!

That is awesome. SO much work has gone into that!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Mr [2JZGTE] who posts on here seems to get by ok with his fairly mildly modified auto Supra - I wouldn't call that too slow or cumbersome!

Exactly. BPU and you have 400hp+.

What does a 300hp MR2 and a 500hp Supra have in common? They both run 12s.

That TA64 is great, almost bought a tear to my eye as it made me miss my old Ta61, it looked similar but without those flaired guards(I'm assuming that was a WRC thing) and it had the slant back headlights like you mentioned.
Although I don't miss the constant cutting rust out of it and trying to find parts

One of my mate remembers that car as well although probably not fondly, I acidentally turned off the pop up headlight switch while he had his hand behind it adjusting the light lol

Here are some pics:
