Have a gander at my new SW20

I picked this baby up last week. Its a 92 GT-S with 150k on the clock. Its manual of course and for a change it is all standard bar a boost controller, but that will be comming off soon. I'm planning on replacing all the usuall stuff first, leads, sparkies etc, then I will sort out a better form of cooling (any ideas would be great).
She runs like a dream, and its a nice power increase after owning the FXGTV/AW11 respectively.
I'll put up more photos when im not limited by teh ghey dial upz. Ten points for anyone who can tell me where i took these ;)

looks nice and standard. please don't be one of those who owns it for a week and feels confident enough to go drift it into a bank :wink:

thats a ct26 year? they still make a healthy 135-145wkw if not too tired so its plenty to start with.

do all the usual maintenance, maybe even go as far to get some fresh engine and gearbox oils in there. drive it for a while and you'll soon find things that need attention.

Definately not! Drifting in an Mr2? :lol: Yeah its the ct26 - a bigger turbo + new manifold is a long term goal...and a respray as the clear coat is a bit tired in places. Shes going in for a full service next week :D

By the river, in upper hutt, might be the bit that you get to by turning off moonshine road near the bridge...

Why are you taking the boost controller off? (if it's just a bleed tap then I understand) 8)

Ten points for both of the above answers. It is indeed moonshine park :)

Touge rolla - i am taking it off because its a p.o.s. I want to start from scratch...plus its pink ;) I had an overboost problem when i first got it - but after i turned down the boost it was fine. I'm just after standard boost at the moment.

I bet thats a little quicker than a white, NA, auto aw11 :P

You got out of that car at the right time, it'll be a b*tch when the rust in the floor, doorpillars, front towers, engine bay, firewall and boot starts coming through properly :x

Hahaha this is too true. I do miss that car though. I realised just how much when i went to pick up the sw20. The previous owners also own an 87 supercharged aw11 with a really really really nice white with blue pearl paint job :twisted:
I just washed the 17s that were on the aw before i sold it...they came up really well. I'm not sure if its worth getting an adapter plate and putting them on the sw or not. I dont mind the standard look at the moment ;)

Good choice of car :D. Im back in my SW20 again after it being off the road for a month, and i love it so much!

Pity a full tank of gas is like $85!! Doesnt last long tho!! Altho my ST185 will be well over $100 to fill, 68 litre tank :cry:

I dont know about you but fuel is the cheapest part of my car!

The cooling on it should be find so long as your replace the coolant, and bleed it properly (it takes a while)


Bleed from the top of the radiator while your filling it (remember you have to drain all that stuff seperatly... there are two bolts in the pipes underneath the car (above the rear underbody shroud, just remember to do the bolts back up after your finished draining, and for the love of god dont break them off, they are a pita to replace)

After the coolant in the filler cap stops going down, tighten the radiator bleed screw. And undo the one on the top of the heater pipe (you might have to take out the shroud behind your spare tire and remember to turn your heater to full in the cab)

That should make the water level in the engine bay drop some more. When you cant top it up anymore, shut everything and put the cap on, run the car for about 10 minutes...

Rinse and repeat. Remember to let it cool down a bit inbetween times as hot coolant really doesnt like cold hands.

Mine was $120 once........and petrol wasn't as high as it is atm...... so good luck with that, LOL!!!!

Yeah my first tank ever was $105, and that was 18 months ago :cry:

Altho a tank in the SW20 = like half the size of a ST185 tank!
