Cleaning headlight switch contacts.

I just failed a warrant because my lights won't go to high beam. Only problem is they do go to high beam you just have to fiddle with the switch until it comes on. I'm thinking the contacts are dirty because that's pretty common but I'm not sure how to approach it to clean the contacts.

Some guidance would be appreciated as to what I need to do.
