3sgte factory bov

Postby MR2SIK » Fri Dec 07, 2007 6:06 pm

Upon trying to find a leak in a vacuum line recently, I managed to snap the plastic outlet of the small white circular valve thing on the stock b.o.v.(It was very brittle)
Ive taken it out to either try and glue it back together or find a replacment.
In the mean time Ive just attatched the line before it to the bov after it.
I gave it a bit of rev to make sure its still working, now when it releases, towards the end it makes the 'ch-ch-ch-chaaa' type noise
After reading the bov vs compressor surge debate on here Im just a bit worried,
Is it just the bov opening and shutting rather than just staying open, or is it something that could damage the turbo?

Hey, at least it sounds like a 3s.

Its a little vacuum delay valve isn't it? Holds the vacuum on the BOV to keep it open that little bit longer when boost pressure is low but not completely gone. Could be wrong

Worried about $120 when you've done all that to your car?

I thought mine sounded cool too for a bit, but thought toyota would have put it there for a reason.
