ok this has me a bit stumped.
got my flywheel all tightened up on saturday, installed the clutchpack and bolted the gearbox on and mounted up in the engine bay. then on sunday i did the driveshafts, clutch slave cyl, shifter arms, plenum etc etc.
turned the key, fired right up to an idle of 1000rpm. chucked the wheels back on, dropped it on the floor and started again no worries and backed out of garage. checked water, needed to be topped up. stopped/started it around 9/10 times over the course of half an hour with no problems at all.
got the water topped up, went to put the air filter back on, wrangled with it a little (tight fit with the AFM in the way) and then it stopped starting. just cranks over and doesnt catch.
i checked all the connections around where the air filter sits in case i knocked something loose but everything is fine.
fuel pump whirrs when you have the car set to 'on' and push the AFM flap, so i presume its getting fuel
the sparkplugs are fine, not fouled or anything and spark when cranking, so i presume its getting spark
i pulled the plenum etc out and theres nothing blocking anything, so i presume its getting air
I swapped out the ignitor module with no luck, same with AFM. unplugged IAC-V, WTS, TPS and knock sensor one at a time and still no luck. Cranking speed is good, tacho registers about 500ish RPM at crank, voltage is good. starter lead is bolted down good and hard, grounding is good. AFM plugged in. cambelt still in one peice.
I cannot crash start it either.
got me stumped.
the wiring is proven to be working as far as i know, as this is the second silvertop i have had in this car (first one spun a bearing) and the car fired right up earlier also. just stopped starting!
edit: oh and the alarm/immobiliser has been disabled everytime i've tryed to start it.
