I think you'll find it's from a corona which is slightly wider than the ae86 diff's.

I'm not sure if the actual ae86 ones are the same length as the disk ones.

it is common practice for any live T series diff to be called AE86. yes the Aussie spec ones have drums, but i don't believe that anyone would import drum rears from aussie when disc rears are available ex-japan.
the one in the auction looks very much like a TT13#/14# diff.
what size drums did the aussie ones get?? i'd imagine they would be the same as the ae70/ke70 ones as they are the same family of car

Na, the aussies got the S rear end not the T, the notch back ae86 GT got the drum rear end though. But they are quite uncommon.

are they?
part numbers are different
and from what iv seen on some other toyotas the axle is longer in the section from the bearing to the flange to make room for the drum.

if its a GT diff the axles will still not fit as they have a square head and discs are round ... so the discs wont go over them.

full marks to him for deliberately setting the photo up so a bolt count couldn't be performed!! if someones gonna pay that for one, i'll sell one cheap for $250, or a disc Celica T series for, um...............$1million(purely because it fits and AE86!)
