looking for a 3" muffler

Postby gasman » Thu Dec 27, 2007 1:22 pm

im looking for a 3" in and out straight through muffler not a chrome cannon type thing but a proper looking muffler. for my turbo project. something like this:

http://stores.channeladvisor.com/veroci ... Items/1147?

anyone know where i can get a similar one from?

also i found some mufflers made by Forza Flow, their mufflers a similar in style to flowmaster ones which have chambers rather than packing to reduce noise. anyone know how these perform on a turbo car as they usually end up on big v8's

I had a 3" straight through exhaust made custom by a guy on trademe
his email address custommufflers@xtra.co.nz

He did a great job and supplied everything I needed to build my exhaust except the actual pipe. Custom built to size etc
Was $120 for the actual muffler
$100 for two coby type resonators
and he did flanges and a flexi for $100

Appco/Repco/Pioneer Autoparts can get em, or go to Chase directly. Pioneer have some random branded mufflers, but they're quite good value and seem to be well made.

been to chase and the only suitable one they got is an offset one with a chamber in the middle. had a look at autobend's website and they have a 3" straight through oval muffler, but i dont think they will be interested in selling just one to me directly so does anyone work at a place that buys stuff off autobend?

I have one from Southwards (purchased through Repco), it's 3" straight through with a small expansion chamber. It's light, cheap ($55 at trade price) and is the only muffler in my exhaust that's just under 2m long from turbo to tip, and it passed a warrant at onroad. Have a look through the Southwards catalogue at Repco, and get a can of exhaust black if you want it to be black rather than silver :)
