AW11 Advice Needed

Postby Wanabee Kiwi » Tue Jan 01, 2008 9:11 pm

Righto...

My mate and i are looking to embark on an AW11 4AGZE project.

The Goal: 200bhp ATW using a Supercharger, Fast & Fun.

Basically my mate is learning mechanics as we go along and im not experienced with Toyota engines and specifically supercharging.

The car currently has a Red Top 4A-GE. The plan is to use the current block and use a 20v head, Preferably blacktop but silvertop will hopefully be sufficient. Then use a 4AGZE Supercharger or maybe an SC14 supercharger.

So i have this spec list in my head and im asking basically if this will work and give us potential of 200bhp ATW.

Re-conditioned Red Top Block (4AGELU, 7 Rib???)
Standard Internals (will these be ok with this kind of Power?)
TRD Head Gasket
20v Head, Ported and Polished with quad throttle bodies.
SC14 Supercharger
Injectors & Fuel Pump
Intercooler
Chipped ECU or LINK ECU if need be

A couple of things im unsure about is 1. Where to mount the Intercooler? and 2. What size injectors are we looking at?

The philosophy of this build is to do it right first time so theoretically cost is no issue, it will just take longer!

Have a look at my car in my sig. It's dyno proven 190hp atw on a SC12. Pretty basic and simple to do.

Interals I think you will need ze or silvertop I think (same?)
Intercooler, would probably be better to move to a suburu (or similar) w2a setup.
Also heres a writeup on fitting an sc14 into an aw incase you have not already seen it : http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=8688

Definately look at Zaks car and a lot of the garagedori tech sheets.

Those guys have done most concivable things you can to a 4age and gotten the most interesting setups to run..,

I'm not too sure how the smallport NA pistons go with the 20V heads.
There may be clearance issues.

The Smallport GZE 8.9's work ok, but you would have to double check if you are planning on using then NA's.
