Nooooooooo! The Dakar is cancelled!

I can't believe the world we live in. Some bullshit threats stop an event where there is always a death or more.

Yeah sucks big time. But i guess the organisers have to take threats seriously cause lets be honest we'd all be jumping up & down if someone was killed by terrorists.

But i have a few solutions.
1) have all vehicles mounted with .50cal machine guns on servo controlled pintle mounts
2) lets just nuke the whole of the middle east & north africa  & then all vehicles just need to be NBC compliant
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

Apparently this could be the end of the Dakar rally. Organisers are already attempting to get a new endpoint to the rally, however townships are already preparing to sue the organisers over loss of income for this years cancellation.
Silly thing is, the Baja (the only other big offroad event I know of) is also being threatened. Most US drivers are boycotting it as they are sick of the corrupt Police stopping them for bribes and the hijacks that are regularly stripping drivers and crew of race cars, pit equipment and chase/tow vehicles.
I better go and do the Baja before its also cancelled!!

What about the Mint 400, I hope they don't cancel that.

“What’s the entry fee?” I asked the desk—man.
“Two fifty,” he said.
“What if I told you I had a Vincent Black Shadow?”He stared up at me, saying nothing, not friendly. I noticed he was wearing a .38 revolver on his belt. “Forget it,” I said. “My driver’s sick, anyway.” His eyes narrowed. “Your driver ain’t the only one sick around here, buddy."

^^For you Hunter S fans. :)

Ollie, are you a closet offroad racing fan?

Haha, I guess you could say that. I went to an event years ago that my mum was doing first aid at and loved it.

I don't often get time to see modern stuff but like watching historical stuff. Parnelli Jones in his Bronco on the Baja is one of my favourites. :)
