LOL - thanks for your comments ppl. Being a driving billboard it needed to be something that catches attention - so lightning bolts it was!

That kit was a mission I tell ya - the rear bumper in particular. Thats the top 1/3 of the factory bumper grafted onto the lower 2/3 of an aftermarket sedan bumper that we imported from the USA. All I can say is if you need difficult custom bodykit work, go see Chris at Darkside Customs. The man is a genuis.

Also had major suspension issues. Being 4WD it doesnt take the same struts as the sedans or 2WD gitas - so it was custom made coilovers. We were also stuck with 10mm positive toe on the rear until I managed to track down some adjustable toe arms for it which were fitted last week and we finally managed to get a decent wheel alignment out of it!

At this stage its powered by a 2JZGE with a 4wd auto box - I have just purchased a W58 for it however so a manual conversion is on the cards. I had initially wanted to stay 4WD but its just not going to be possible (well - unless I want to spend 10-12k on a complete custom setup using a GTR box or similar). This car will probably stay NA - at least for the next 12-18 months. A turbo conversion is a possibility at a later date as the NA 2Js can handle the power no problems. I also have a couple other mods on the cards incl a carbon splitter and headlight modifications that I hope to get done in the next few weeks ;-)

Have you had a look at the gita's 4wd system? It's like the GTR system if I remember.

Nope - hilux boxes are on the other side. Believe me - ive spent 6-8 months researching this (with the help of brendan from nite parts) and we have come to the conclusion that its just a gold plated can of worms.

So you use a PRADO box as they have the transfer case front driveshaft up the passengers side.......

Yep, I've seen a few and driven a couple - fairly rare but still around. Would hate to think what it would cost to buy a box thou as 4wd wreckers would no doubt charge a small fortune for one.
