D1NZ Quest motorsport Supra - TRD version

Postby slydesigns » Tue Jan 15, 2008 12:27 pm

Heres some pics of the replacement D1 car for SLYDX, the mad and fairly well hammered old Toyota DX Turbo of Crazy Will Cook.

This is the TRD version graphics that were used for the Toyota Grand Prix at Manfeild last weekend.

Now it all comes off again and a completely new design goes on in time for D1NZ 08 Round 2 at manfeild on the 8th and 9th of Feb... no pressure!

So there you have it. Finally a Toyota D1NZ car that has the track presence to hold its own along side FURSTY and the Nissans this year. The AE86's DO go well and definitely get the job done but they just don't look or sound animal angry enough to get the crowd going ape over a Toyota... this should do it, especially with Will swinging on the wheel!

Argh it doesn't work, which sucks, because I've been wanting to see this thing for a while now.

Ok... sorry Richard, now it works. Doing too much at once.
Designing the Supras new graphics, as well as messing round with some ideas for Keiths AE86's new look and downloading some test footage from the new onboard cameras I'm hiring out for trackdays.
Just done a few laps on the bike with one on the fairing pointing backwards and one on the front. Looks promosing so far.

The Supras going to have up to 5 onboard when its competing. Two on the front - one pointing forward, one pointing up back at the inside of the front wheel and suspension, one out the rear, one pointing at the dash gauges and one in Wills face

That paint is quite cool, wasn't really sunny enough on Sunday to make out the pearl, but it shows up nicely in the pics.

Looks smooth and clean. Very nice :)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Everyone will find out details at D1NZ Round 2, and not before, sorry. When you rip open a corner of your Xmas present to see whats inside a week early, xmas tends to suck.
Same applies here. Only reason photos are up is because the car was shown to the public by order of TRD at the Grand Prix and because this ISN'T what the finished product will look come race day... not even close

Its only a few weeks away.

Yes about time I agree I think a Supra won D1 in the U.S 2004-05 I think Rhys Millen had a bit to do with it.

But good luck I think it will look the part as well.I don't think you'll need to go to extreme with the engine mods to get the power, just the advantage using the 2JZ.

i'd say a slight turbo upgrade wouldnt go amiss to compete at top level in D1, the top cars are putting out quite a bit of power now, theres a few pumping over 300wkw area i think.

they make good power easily enough so it shouldnt be an issue.
I did always wonder why they don't seem to be popular for drifting in japan tho?
