Just wondering what fuel these engines are factory tuned for and what works best?

Theyre pretty high compression 10ish:1? So 95 at a bare minimum.

yea 95+

You can tune and run them on 91 and they run alright, but if you want to take care of your engine 95 is best.

Let me get this right. You're stating that the Octane rating on the Shell fuel is so much lower than advertised that your car instantly retarded ignition in all zones and enrichened all zones in all maps?

I dont know about today, but when I used to service computers at the CHCH fuel storage depot's ALL shell and BP fuel came from the same tanks.

You sure there wasnt something else going on that made you use a little more boot? Like ya mamma in the back seat?

Did you here this one? Frosts mamma is so fat that...

you do get bad batches of fuel though.
i know someone who had an ecu that actively monitored knock levels. usually ran 98 quite happily, got a tank of 98 one day and the knock went through the roof, was so bad he had to get fresh gas to sort it out.
wasnt a hot day or anything either. once he got fresh gas in the problem cleared.
he corresponded with management who refused to accept that their product was not performing as stated.
