not sure about the early ones but the late model engines as in battys have an oil injection system on the engine,
they inject engine oil from the sump direct into the rotor housings to keep them lubricated. (so if anyone ever says it uses no oil id be thinking twice about them)
ive done away with that on mine and i just run premix i run more oil than i should to be safe.

Go the RX..

But in saying that Crazy Will's Supra looks the biz.. If you have the $$$ to mod the Supra you'll enjoy it. If you don't it will be a whale on the road..

Personal bias is def the RX though

RX7 looks like it was designed by the same guy that did the taurus.
looks half deflated :?

That's an S30 240Z/Fairlady Z.... That particular one has a twin turbo VH4something bent 8 in it.

Anyway, re the original question. FD over a JZA80 for me any day.

As opposed to a supra without a bodykit??? The supra has the same lines so you cant like them either! The supra has disgusting headlights and i've read that Toyota was looking at the FC RX7 when they designed them

The FD is widely regarded as the best handling sports car to come out of the nation of the rising sun, and one of the best in the world! And even now has a modern look (and it was designed prior to 1992!!)

That 240Z looks great!!!!

I am aware of the RX-7's handling abilities I have no arguement there but you guy's saying that the Supra is a whale are implying that it has no handling what so ever are on drugs and I'm doubting wheather you guys have driven one so thats like me saying point to point the RX-7 would get creamed everyday past thursday by the Supra but for me thats mindless on my part because I've never owned a 7 and I could be completely wrong.

Im not saying Supra's are bad.. But you need alot more $$$ to do to them what you can to an RX

400hp in an RX7 kills 400hp in a supra

I've driven both and supra's handle well but nothing like the FD

Its horse's for course's though where as I agree you do have spend a bit of money to get a Supra to handle but on the other hand you won't have to spend as much to get the 400 HP so there is a flip side.

And as for 400 HP RX-7 killing a 400 HP Supra well I've done a few track-days in the past 8 years and I'm yet to come across one that has killed me yet.

But I do have to agree with you from what I have seen on youtube and other sources the RX-7 is a supremely great handling car.

Revvy your calling the 7 ugly well you got me there I actually quite like the look of them...... 8O

yeah thats what i ment, but from what iv heard/read once you start tinkering they are not really good enough, hence brittle cracked seals

Supra, $1500 adjustables, $1000 3' Exhaust, $500 FMIC, $3000 18x10/9 = $&#$% MEAN 8)

     Funniest thing I've heard in a long time. That comes down to personal opinion. But then again some people do think VW Beetles and Chrome wheels look good, or tri-spoke chrome wheels. Either way its everyones personal opinion.
RX7 > faster, better looking that a JZA80

supras handle great, toyota did a damn good job of making a tourer that can cut it in the twisties.
i have been in a supra with standard suspension through a tight and twisty hill road and they handle extremely well if driven properly.
they manage to put most of their power down quite easily, and all that torque means you just fly out of corners and up hills.

i think they designed the rx-7 with the idea being it was meant to simulate water flowing over a rock , so it looked natural. (headlights ruin that effect somewhat)

D1 Mule, do you just state anything and everything that pops into your mind, without any real factual evidence or basing?
cogent

Both great cars, just depends what you want from them.
I was looking at the same things a few years back, except I had decided on the supra, but the rx7 was looking pretty good too.
Main differences I could see are were (supra bias tho)
Supra is much more comfortable to drive. More cabin space, more presence. Cruiser, with a lot of grunt. Nothing like being able to hit 100kph in first :)
Supras cabin is very plain. Too much plastic.
RX7 handles better, feels more precise to your steering inputs, but I couldn't get over how close your head was to the window. I thought I was going to hit myself in the head every time I closed the door :?
