Where to buy lockable bonnet pins?

I have a fibre glass bonnet that I want to fit some lockable bonnet pins too. I've had a search online for NZ suppliers but can't find anything useful.

Has anyone got some recommendations on suppliers, good brand, best design or price to pay?

Must be lockable 8)

I went with lockable aerocatch from racebrakes. Not cheap.
You may just want to throw some small locks through the eye of stock bonnet pins, instead of using the pin?

Hot digity - pretty pricey indeed. $209 from a place down here in wgtn.

Still I'd rather that than actual small pad locks flopping about.

I zip-tie my 7's bonnet down while its at the tracks over night, on trailer etc.

We've had alot of people opening hoods to check things. Not steal or scope, just check things. Like other teams check if we're cheating etc and try nark on us for having one thing out of place. :?

Lockable would be nice but not for that price!

i'd go with redmists idea.... a couple of suitcase padlocks for like $10 and just use a small bit of 100mph race tape to stop them bouncing

Ive got a small padlock I stick on my car when its parked somewhere. Used to have people walk up and open then bonnet while it was parked inside thebuilding at work...

Just take it off if it bugs you while you're driving :D

we were going to use the locable aero catch's on the focus,


BUT,

if you look at them, they physically push the pin thru the rod,
and a spring returns them when you open it, no physical connection,

and after the team at the Pukekohe 6hr has a slight tap in the front then spent nearly 10 minutes in the pit's just trying to get the bonnet catch to release, we decided against it.

But for a road car they'd be fine.
We have put them on the GT40.

Yeah - in the past when my racecar has been parked outside I just put a small lock through each bonnet pin.
Keep the keys on the same keyring as the car so you can open the bonnet when you take the car off the trailer!

Had a think about this last night...

those little black(or white) velcro dots may be useful for holding them down, you can use pretty much any super glue on them so they really wont come off.

The car is not a dedicated track/trailer car so Im leaning towards the trademe ones B1 listed, rather than pad locks (good idea re: velcro though).
