you may or may not no im building a JZX81 drift hack the plan was 1JZGTE W5#and adjustables (with the money from selling my Z10 (5K)),

now i stupidly went into a importers today and they have a 2JZGTE with 6 Speed GETRAG, clutch pedal and line, loom and comp for $4200.

i have $3600 left after selling my GZ10 but have a few hundred worth in W-J manual stuff and a 1J single turb manifold that i could sell to make the difference.

WHAT DO I DO???

How much power are you intending on putting through?
Remember you're going to end up with a tad more torque from the extra 500cc's of engine size. Given that and the fact that the 2JZ is a stronger engine and parts are more readily available than the 1JZ. The Getrag will support more power than the W58? (assuming that may be the gearbox), but once again dependent on what you intend on putting out at the end of the day.

I would personally go for the 2JZ as you instantly have more power and torque.

ask the boss if he will sell it off the books for a cash deal, worth a shot.

isn't the gearbox alone worth 3k+ could always buy the combo, and sell that gearbox and use the W5#, many options i guess, do you already have the w5# gearbox lined up and 1jz bought? if not I say go 2JZ combo

Stick with the 1JZ idea, and spend heaps more on brakes and chassis development.

all i currently have is the Car, manual flywheel, adaptor plate (for auto bel to W box) auto bel, and single turb manifold.

it will be getting a cage and GTS25T calipers and BA falcon rotors eventually but the standard ones will suffice for the time being.

If i go 1J i should be able to get it going, manual AND adjustables whereas the 2j will be going manual.

the 2J will stay stock too, just FMIC, BOV, Exhaust and oil cooler. so it will save money on the modification side of things
