I'm keen for a MM. It gives me an excuse to finish the KE70 off

If Wellys a go I have access to some very cheap club rooms (around $100) in Titahi Bay, Porirua if thats ever needed. It worked out ok for the nzice MM didn't it DeeCee?

We could do a poker run around Welly/ the Hutt. You get a clue sheet and go to 5 different locations and fill in questions on the way eg "How many street lights on so and so road" and once you have all 5 cards see what hand you have, better hand = extra points etc.

Another day, cruse out to port road for sprints or what ever

Do a night cruse on a Saturday night or something to see the Welly night life.

Paddock racing another day. Surly someone could get a flat paddock somewhere slightly north of Wellington?

Another day hire those Gator Bike things from around Te Papa and have races around the water front and see how many people you can run over

How long does the average MM go on for?

Just a couple of ideas.

Cheers

I understand but it would be a shame not to as I believe last year it proved to be a great success and Brad and his team did a good job everyone who wanted to got heaps of track time and the day itself went really well I thought.Alot of people have good handling and very powerful cars and I just don't think a cruise show's these cars abilities whereas thats the whole idea behind having a track-day letting our cars loose in a controlled atmosphere like Manfeild instead of parking them on the side of the road and taking photo's.I no for some a track-day is not there cup of tea but for a serious car enthusiast who like to no what you as a driver and the true ability of there car track-days are the way to go.

You've nailed a lot of the merits of a track day there.
However Megameet is an opportunity for TS'rs who wouldnt usually be able to catch up with eachother to meet and and have a bit of fun.
Track day is one possible avenue, but we do those anyway...

Some of the ideas brought up in this thread are pretty cool.

Track days are a good bonus but if we didn't have one Wellington looks like the best place to have MM. I will come as long as its not in the south island!

There are plenty of other trackdays, although I guess there haven't been any "offical toyspeed" days since chelles started doing her own thing?

The "why" really is not to go racing, its to have a fun social gathering as a club! :D

Some of he ideas bought up by you guys are great.me I'm just alittle on the biased side towards track-day fun.I do understand the whole MM idea is for the club to come together.I just figured it was a no brainer to have another track-day added to the format as last years one was such a success and as proven last year the mornings events were not just purely baised on trackday fun.

i guess it really depends on what people want to do, if the majority don't want a track-day then ofcourse there isn't as much point in organising one, but i was under the impression that most people would be for a track-day organised around the usual meets and get-togethers, cruises and activities and grass mashing etc.

having never been to a MM, do we wear name badges or something, cos I hardly know the local members by name/handle let alone however many show up to a MM
