If you think drags are boring, you need more power and some practice :D My car is far from quick, yet at the last drags I was at I had some of the biggest rushes I've had in any kind of sport... being neck and neck with someone all the way to the end is awesome.

Drag racing is quite cool to participate in because its very mano e mano. Its not just the accelerating, its the getting the lights right, keeping your cool enough to get the launch right (in 2WDs with enough that they can turn tires to smoke with too much throttle enthusiasm) and making sure you don't stuff anything up all the way down the strip... so long as you don't, the rest of the ride is as much as anything finding out the results of the start bit and how that combined with your car stacks up against the other persons efforts.

after hammering around taupo A1GP being chased by a 600+hp mk4, i'll only ever go back to drags just to say i've got a time for the jz, thats it. nothing beats the rush of side by side at 200+, late braking into a corner with a car that easily out classes yours and sit with him as you both step out a touch, flick back for the next corner, then launch out onto the next straight, most unreal feeling ever!

Absolutely, I'd agree if I had been in that situation. Think of what I was saying this way - sex is better, but I wouldn't call a blowjob boring....

Man that was a filthy metaphor

There was no option for "hanging it out racing around in paddocks and quarries" so I had to choose rallying. Real racing is on gravel - tarmac is only for getting to the venue
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

At moment circuit racing is all good for me, i've been in a rally car as passenger on a gravel hillclimb. was good fun, but at moment owning my current type of vehicle (fxgt) i think front wheel drive doesn't belong on gravel, not as much fun to be had as in a rwd. No, wait.......fwd doesn't belong on either gravle or asphalt imo. Only because i miss rwd :P

drags.
Cos its generally cheaper/easier less time consuming to fix and replace broken engine and driveline bits rather than having a woopsy and ending your car :p

There's always a cv or axle to go, good luck with that quest to try and break one
