opening doors and everything! even the rust was accurate!
came complete with the optional "knock knock" engine!!

Far out! When did you get that? And how bad was the rust? You could have put in a little time and money and got a nice hefty sum out of it!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

not worth 15 because its red/black 10-12 yes.
if it was the real black/white then they can reach far over 15k. esp shipped back to asia, in hongkong a car in that great condition can fetch 18k+ trust me i know i have sent+sold one,

See, to me the red/black makes it more desireable!

I've got heaps of diecast model AE86 Trueno and Levins, and the red/black scheme will always win over white/black... so of course, this would also occur if I was gonna buy a real one. I think 15k is definitely in the upper reaches, but look at the thing... it's $&#$% perfect. A mate just paid 12k for an MG Midget, and in my eyes an AE86 has a classic status comparable with that car... so you're getting a bit more car for your money, and what I would consider a cooler driving experience.

It's not always about having the latest and greatest, to those who say 15k can buy you way more car...

Lol, its' a mass-produced mid-80s Corolla with 250,000km.. $15k? You couldn't pay me to take it. I guess I just don't appreciate AE86s as much as everyone else around here.

Maybe if it was mint, and had only 100,000km, I'd consider it, but like the other guys, in my day we paid $1000 for these things and thrashed the tits off them and then scrapped them. Same with S1 RX7s and that. :) So to see how much they go for now.. is just laughable, even more so when people shell out more than a couple of grand for these things.

Don't hate on me, its' just my opinion. :)

same old story really isint it. most modern classics were your average mass produced cheap as chips beater at some stage. think about vr-4s and R32 gtst skylines... they arent as crazy as 86's, but they arent as old either and the price is defintely going up, not down.

the reality is though, these things would not be worth even near 15k if drifting were not so popular. they would have a cult following, yes, but not like it is now.

Not entirely accurate, it's only been in NZ for 2 Years
