Say hypothetically i have a standard 1990 Toyota Corolla AE90-93 etc... with the carby motor.

How long does it take to take, on average, to take the motor out?
And put in another motor, wired up?

Dont want prices or anything just want labour.

make sure you remember where you park it.... as chances are 50% of the cars in the car park will be camrys

A Camrys appear to be quite cheap or prices normally over there.
My auntie bought hers for $4000, which i thought was quite good for a modern type of car.

possibly because they assemble them over there and get away from the import tax thing maybe? What about something like an astra/vectra or Focus?

yes cars made in aus do not have the same taxes etc on them.

mechanic would probably charge 6-8 hours.

if you are a DIYer, allow a weekend - one day for engine in and out, and a spare day to sort out any niggles.

Nah, most ive ever done is top up the oil, and even that was extreme.
Im more of a save up and pay for someone to do it type of person.
