replacing handbrake with momo

Postby GTCRSHR » Thu Mar 06, 2008 2:45 pm

hey guys

just wondering if some one can shed some light on this

i am thinking of replaceing my handbrake with one of these :

http://www.jdmperformance.co.nz/oneadmi ... 09c830.jpg

i was looking at my ae101 handbrake trying to get the cover off., but it doesnt seem to budge,

do i just slip this over the old one ? or do i have to slice the old one off ?

is there any one that supports toyspeed who supplies momo ?

also will the button screw onto the old one or whats the go there?

cheers

Chris

Do you have an aftermarket cover on there at the mo??
Cause the momo ones just slide over the top of the factory plastic on the hand break.

nope just factory,

so it just slides over the top of the other ? how does it stay on there ? do i need to glue in on or is it usually pretty tight

Yea, just slides over the top.
There are some screws that come with it (uber tiny ones) that you screw in to hold it in place. You can glue it on also if you wish, just if you do, then dont plan to ever take it off again..lol

mrs had a cheap cheap "style" type handbrake on her car when she bought it..... to get rid of it I had to replace the whole handbrake as to get the aftermarket one fitted, the rubber part (this is from ae111) had been cut off the handbrake.

just putting that out there as being a universal part for any handbrake (i'm guessing momo is) you might have to mod it. Looks like it might be fine tho as Stalker seems to have experience with the momo one you're lookin at
